I've got to tell you that I love dress forms! Especially vintage dress forms. I have had this one for many years, and I put my daughter's Great Grandmother's lace and satin dress from the 1930s on her to keep her warm. Then I added a few necklaces! She's pretty contented now. Do you own a dress form? You gotta love 'em!

I have a lot of dress forms.. never did I ever think I would have a "collection" of them lol I have one just like yours... I've recovered it and it looks fabulous :-)
ReplyDeleteCheryl: I would love to see a picture of yours!! I've had this one for quite a few years and this dress belonged to my daughter's great grandmother. I took it off finally, because the weight of the lace is causing it to distort at the hemline! I'm "working" on a project for the next dress form ball at The Polka Dot Closet.
ReplyDeleteOMG it was the biggest mess you can imagine, I didn't want to be too negative on the post, but it was really poorly organized! Oh well, what can you do!

HI, You asked about the fabric on the stool. I got it at Joannes and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the fabric...It was something like oxynberg or onyxnberg it is a great tan fabric and I think it is cotton. It looks just like the picture, I am sure you can find it if you look at a joannes....Sorry, I wish I could be more help

You are so observant to notice that the boy is jumping in backwards lol! The problem was he has a hole in the back of his leg for the stand he is supposed to on.....I could not figure out how to cover the hole....So I guess we will say he just fell in LOL!

You are so right about using a washer for the cardboard lamp shade. I actually wen to Ace and bought a couple then saw that since this was a new hat box I did not need it, but it would definitely be helpful and needed for the older, flimsier hat boxes!
